Happy Mother’s Day!

As I sat in my living room looking at old photos on my phone I am reminded of my mother’s love. She has always been there for me—loving me unconditionally even when I didn’t think I deserved it. My mum has been there for me constantly, supporting and encouraging me. She has been my rock and guiding light—I feel so blessed to have her in my life.
Then I looked at my toddler who smiled up at me—I felt a surge of gratitude to God for giving me the opportunity to be a mom. Through every moment, ups and downs, I won’t change it for anything. Being a Christian mum is not about perfection, it’s about surrendering the motherhood journey to God.

Then I remembered the verse in the bible that said “All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace.”
Isaiah 54:13 NIV
Then I made yet another silent vow to God, that I would bring up my children in the way of the Lord—the way of love. Motherhood is a ministry that God has entrusted to my hands and I vowed I would not fail him.
In that moment, I felt a sense of peace and gratitude for my mum bringing me up in the way of the Lord, and know that I would pass the same way to my child and she would in turn pass it to her children one day by God’s grace.

Maybe you did not or do not have a loving mom — maybe you feel abandoned and unwanted by your earthly mom. Maybe your mom told you that ‘you are a mistake’, ‘I wish I never had you’.
I would like to let you know that God loves you. God has engraved you in the palm of his hands.

““Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.”
Isaiah 49:15-16 NIV
Perhaps you are grieving the loss of your mom or grieving what could have been. Remember you are not alone, God sees the pain, he is here for you. God’s love is immovable, unconditional and unshakeable.
